Community Involvement

Although the NAACP has been helping improve the lives of minorities for nearly 100 years, the struggle continues. We continue to strive for equality in our schools, in our communities, and in our workplace.

 Trail to Freedom

The Trail to Freedom was initiated in 2009 by the Fredericksburg-Stafford-Spotsylvania Sesquicentennial Committee in an effort to commemorate and interpret the experiences of more than 10,000 slaves who passed through this region between April and September 1862.  Presently, the Trail to Freedom encompasses sites in the City of Fredericksburg and Stafford County, Virginia.  This region is located midway between Washington, D.C, and Richmond, Virginia.  To learn more information about the Trail to Freedom, please visit the following link www.TrailtoFreedom.com.

Help Haiti

The entire NAACP family is deeply saddened by the devastation in Haiti, and our thoughts and prayers go out to the families and those affected by this tragedy. The NAACP is asking our members and supporters to do whatever they can to assist those who have lost their homes, their livelihoods, and their loved ones. In the weeks ahead we will bring you a number of opportunities to get involved in relief efforts in your communities.

Today, the need for aid is crucial, and we ask that you make an emergency donation through the NAACP for Haiti Fund.

The NAACP is working directly with our partner organizations on the ground, and donations made to the NAACP for Haiti fund will go to support the effort to bring food, water, shelter and medical services to the people of Haiti.
